RDA Dressage Grampian & Highland Qualifiers

On Friday 23 May, in Sue's absence, Alison M. and Christina drove Iain Hunter up to the RDA Dressage Grampian and Highland Qualifiers at the Gordon Group's RDA Centre at Tweed-dale, Inverurie.
They all had a great time, in spite of the cold weather. A contrast to two years ago, when everybody was sunbathing during the lunch break!  Iain was on a skewbald pony called Tony, about whom he was rather equivocal ("he wasn't bad to ride, but he wasn't good to ride"). In fact, Tony was extremely lazy, and Iain did brilliantly to come 3rd equal in the qualifying class, just missing going through to the finals. He enjoyed the day, "as the standard was high", but, being Iain, said "there's always room to improve".
We look forward to being able to host the Qualifiers here at The Brae next year.

BB Year End Display- 30th May 2008

Christina (yard manager) and Mary (centre manager) were invited along to the BB Display at Whitfield Church Halls, to accept a cheque towards Brae Funds for a fantastic amount of £1001.50. This money was raised through a sponsored walk at the beginning of May. All the boys, officers and parents supported the event.

Both Christina and Mary had a great time; it was a very entertaining evening. Lots of preparation and hard work was evident, with lots of effort by the boys. Audience participation was also required with Christina taking part in the section-“ Are you smarter than a BB”, with Mary having to act like a monkey- the things we get asked to do!

Thanks to the Norrie Bruce (BB Captain), all his staff and the boys for both the donation, and a great nights entertainment.

Donation

Hannah Craig is pictured above handing over a cheque to the value of £4,061.69p to Mary Sneddon, centre manager(far right) and Christina Whyte Stable manager (far left).

Also pictured Ian Hunter a volunteer at the centre.

Hannah's mum Carole and friend Nikki Traynor (also pictured above) raised the money by organising a Celeidh on Burns Night.  They made commision from Avon sales, made and sold scarves and christmas favours.  Well done to all concerned.

Hopefully Hannah is going to be able to use the carriage driving facilities when it's up & running.
