The Brae Riding for the Disabled

Monday – Our birthday celebrations got off to an amazing start:

We received a cheque from Brae Rider Marc Ford for the fantastic amount of £287 from his sponsored slim
We had a fantastic time with staff at Alliance Trust who came to The Brae and volunteered for the day
Celebrated with volunteers who received various awards throughout the day
and finally we celebrated our first day of The Braes 5th Birthday week with a fantastic cake made by one of our volunteers John Messeter

Tuesday – Despite the horrible weather, this didn’t stop us from celebrating

Staff & Pupils from Grange Primary came up for a photo of the new “Grange Paddock”.  Money which was donated through the school has enabled us to make a brand new amazing paddock at The Brae.  We celebrated with another fabby cake made by our favourite cake lady Monica Strachan.

Wednesday

What a great start to day 3 of our birthday celebrations – NO SNOW!! We were delighted to welcome Ruby from Tesco Kingsway to The Brae. Ruby presented us with 50 amazing easter eggs to help us with our Easter Bag promotion. Our Volunteers of the Day Nikki & Shaun were delighted with their awards, and in usual Brae style we all celebrated again with homemade birthday cakes in the morning and afternoon.

At the monthly Directors meeting we all enjoyed a piece of cake in celebration of the 5th birthday. Unfortunately Jan Parkinson and Lesley Fullerton were unable to attend. Director Dave Doyle was presented with his certificate to mark his 5 years of involvement with The Brae.

Day 4’s celebrations got off to a rather wintry start but that didnt stop everyone being ready to celebrate again today. Supporter Sheila Robertson came up to the centre to present us with a cheque for an amazing £200 raised from her recent sponsored swim. Volunteers John Don, Jackie Rosenzweig and Hannah Gauld all received certificates and we rounded off the celebrations with another delicious and beautifully made cake by Monica Strachan.

Saturday

Day 6 and what a fantastic week it has been. Celebrating our 5th Birthday has been so much fun and truly inspiring that so many of you have wanted to be part of this very special occasion Saturday saw the final day of celebrations ending with the most beautiful birthday cake made by Winne from Iced Magic who came to the centre to deliver it. The cake looked too good to eat but we succumbed to temptation and ate it anyway. WOW it tasted as good as it looked.
